Dire Straits
------------
Dire Straits has made a record that
will be difficult to beat.In the first
week "On Every Street" was in sale it
sold over 6 millions CD's.
It's a long time since Mark
Knopfler and his Dire Straits was on
the first place on the worldcharts.
Six years ago, it was "Brothers In
Arms" whitch sold millions.
Knopfler's special, almost singing
guitarsound, whitch we all remember
from "Sultans Of Swing" in 1978, made
him the biggest star and a popular
helper for other musicians. He was
the heavyst name in Notting
Hillbillies, made the music for the
film "Local Hero", and was a good
countryguitarist and singer together
with Chet Atkins. He has got more
routine and talent past this years.
Dire Strait is back again with "On
Every Street". He shows his qualities
in "You And Your Friend", which is a
great ballad. The first tune on the
album, "Calling Elvis", is also the
groups titletune on the worldtour
whitch is in Norway in late Juli. In
"How Long" shows Mark his experience
from Notting Hillbillies. It is
twelve new tunes on the album ,which
five is classics. The other tunes are
just exellent.
